Ex-Health Minister, Onyebuchi Chukwu Dumps PDP For APC

Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, the immediate past Minister of Health, has ditched the opposition- the Peoples Democratic Party, in favour of the ruling party- the All Progressives Congress.

Chukwu was said to have registered as a member of APC at his Ugwuegu Ward in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State last week Friday.

Vanguard reports that the former Minister’s registration as a bonafide party member was witnessed by scores of his supporters, APC members and officials.

Chukwu’s defection is said to have had the full backing, knowledge and support of top APC leaders at the national and state levels.

The former minister became internationally renowned in 2014 following his thorough handling of the outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease in Nigeria.

Chukwu is believed to have decamped from the PDP as a result of the unfair treatment he was meted by the party, as a governorship aspirant in the state, in 2014.
